In the late 1990s, we identified a need for clients to have access to low-cost manufacturing facilities that could be tailored to their specific requirements, without the inherent risks of setting up off-shore operations. In 1997, the search for a solution led to the establishment of WDM (Worldwide Diamond Manufacturers), a factory in the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) on the east coast of India. The benefits to clients in this approach are innumerable. The facility offers reliable high-tech manufacturing with minimal capital outlay, economies of scale, no costs of idle capacity when production schedules need to be scaled back and full control of output parameters in their own dedicated production lines.

Following on from this success, additional manufacturing consultancy and factory
management services were added through DMMC (Diamond Manufacturing and
Management Consultancy) Ltd. WDM has since evolved into Constell, a group whose subsidiaries now provides consultancy, training and operations management to foreign companies looking to establish manufacturing hubs in India and Southern Africa.
